Sports Bar Voted Best Burger in Houston, Texas

There was a hole in the downtown sports bar scene. What was lacking was a casual spot open daily with reasonably food, full bar and plenty of flat screens for sports fans. Welcome Christian’s Tailgate. And what took you so long? The local chain known for its stupid-good burgers quietly opened its doors Sept. 4 and debuted its kitchen Sept. 8. (FYI: Just hours after turning on the fryers that kitchen was turning out some fine burgers and onion rings.)  A Houston tradition for over 70 years, Christian’s Tailgate has long been a Midtown favorite for burgers, beer and sports. With 44 Big Screen Plasmas, we offer the perfect place to kick back, drink a cold beer and enjoy what’s been touted as the Best Hamburger in Houston. Dubbed as “Hamburger Heaven” by the Houston Chronicle and voted Reader’s Choice “Best Burger in Houston” you will not be let down.  This is a local favorite of downtown Houston residents and on the weekends visitors from suburban neighborhoods.  If you don’t want to go to a sports event you can enjoy this bar to cheer on your team.  They have a big outdoor seating area with comfortable furnishings and of course large screen tv’s.  Don’t overlook them for a great lunch or dinner with all the comfort foods you’d expect to find in Houston. Spacious and welcoming with a bar big enough for all your friends to gather at for a good time!

Historic Building

The restaurant is located in the historical Pillot Building, which first opened in 1869. Like its four siblings, bar pays tribute to Texas’ sports clubs and invites crowds with its large number of community tables. A bonus is restaurant’s New Orleans-style courtyard.

*Karaoke EVERY Friday & Saturday Night (Kitchen open until 2am!!)
